Historically, the block printing on cotton was done using wooden blocks or woodcuts in the form of printing plates. The blocks were hand crafted, and various patterns were printed on an excellent quality material. At Shopolics, we have created a perfect blend of traditional as well as non-conventional techniques that allow our artisans to create fashion with conventional designs. • Kalamkari Printing

It is a type of hand-painted cotton printing that derives its name of Persian words pen and craftsmanship. It is an elaborate form of block printing that uses heart-shaped designs in the borders and simple colors, to create a perfect blend of simplicity and extravagance. The other designs added to this printing are rounded faces long and big eyes in dominant colors like red, yellow, blue, green and black.

• Jawta Printing

Jawta is also handcrafted form of block printing that includes large symmetrical designs all over the cloth. Vibrant colors like red, blue, yellow, pink are used to create an ideal hand printed fabric.

• Rapid-Sole Printing (Sanganeri)

These prints are set up with small flower motifs, usually sunflowers and roses. Yellow, green and blue are the primary colors used in this printing, but other beautiful combinations are also available.

• Gold & Silver Printing (Rogan)

It was practiced in Kutuch District if Gujarat, India and involves painting with thick bright paste on plain cloth. It gives the work a more authentic appeal and will be a great addition to your wardrobe.

• Tie and Dye Printing (Laheria – Mothara)

It is a very typical process, and our artists have mastered this technique over the years. It is simply folding, twisting and crumpling of fabric with strings and rubber bands, followed by application of dye, to create a symmetrical pattern.
